I thought the Alex Ross article was absolutely necessary - we need to survive, and we can’t do so on a constant diet of the end of democracy, intractable wars, profiles of despicable people, and the end of the world. He’s an excellent writer, and a thoughtful observer, and it’s a treat to read something from him that isn’t about music.
