Poems:
“While It’s Happening” by Deborah Landau: Lulls you half to sleep with its mundane Parisian wanderings, then snaps awake with “careful what you’re gonna do.” That’s one of the better voltas I’ve seen. But Landau can’t really capitalize on it. There’s a kind of manic flowering, executed well enough, but leading to a last line I found, honestly, corny.
